Aphasia 

Aphasia is defined as a loss of language due to injury to the brain in an area associated with production and comprehension of language. Aphasia is not associated with decreased cognitive functioning or loss of intelligence.The most common cause of aphasia is stroke. Other causes of aphasia can include injury or trauma to the brain, tumors, infection, toxicity, and metabolic and nutritional disorders that affect brain function. As language use is complex aphasia can manifest itself in different ways. Read below to learn about different aphasia types.
